Book Presentation to Bishop Howard Gregory

Bishop Howard Gregory & Juliet Thorburn
Juliet Thorburn presenting to Bishop Howard Gregory

My recent trip to Jamaica in early February went well. I signed (and sold) quite a number of my watercolor coffee table books including one for Bishop Howard Gregory. Actually making my presentation of a book to him ended up being one of the highlights of my stay there. He received it so graciously and once again I can’t thank him enough for writing that absolutely magnificent book introduction! Seeing and spending time with my parents and other family members and friends was also an added bonus. That was so nourishing to the heart and soul!

Thankfully, my very dear nephew Jonathan was able to give me some moral technical support a few days before I was to leave and that was getting my book listed on Amazon. I had been having some hiccups with the process and they were finally sorted out that night. So now of course, my book is available online at Amazon and I’m really happy about that as I’ve been working so hard to make this happen for a while. Nowadays my focus seems to be about my newly published watercolor coffee table book and things are definitely moving in a positive direction and I am really grateful for that. I have to say that I am getting so much support all around me and I truly appreciate it.

I must confess though about my longing to be able to spend some time painting again as I haven’t been able to do that for a while. I miss the colors and I miss the paint and being able to put imagery together. What I often do instead in the meantime is to use my Prismacolor colored pencils with adult coloring books and experiment to create wonderful color combinations. This does help to give me a color fix of some sort. It’s not quite the same but it’s better than nothing.
