It’s that time of year again in Delaware – the time of the balmy days of late summer, when that season is coming to an end. For me there’s a feeling of slight melancholy in the air. Where did the summer go? Don’t get me wrong – I love the transition period that comes with it, however I do admit that knowing that the summer is almost behind us makes me a little sad.
This year I’m trying to look at it from a different perspective by taking a more positive approach. I will still acknowledge the passing of time, but look more expectantly at what good is to come. The end of summer here usually brings warm and balmy weather with its gentle breezes and warm soft sun rays. The leaves on the trees are going to start changing colour now and that’s exciting as it’s such a magnificent sight to see.
This past summer was good but got a bit hectic at times, so now I have more time to settle down to produce some work with all this stored-up creativity inside of me. What else…well, there are some nice holidays to look forward to as well, such as Halloween and Thanksgiving. These times are so heart-warming and they are also great opportunities for our loved ones to come together and celebrate. I do look forward to them.
Most of all I am grateful for life and its continuum. Things are constantly changing and moving and that brings in new experiences and opportunities.
Basking in the balmy days of late summer, I can reflect and I can also plan my next steps. It’s a wonderful time to be alive. Let us give thanks and celebrate this period in all its fullness!
