It’s June already and here comes the summer! I don’t know about you but I usually never really feel ready for this season, no matter what I try to put into place. It’s such a busy time in our household and even though it can bring a lot of fun and good cheer to our home, it can also be quite hectic and rather intense. It’s still is however a happy time and quite full of excitement for everyone, especially the children.
The lightest month for me at least, is June, as that’s because we’re “easing” into the summer groove. It’s July and August that really get busy as everyone who’s anyone starts to arrive, and then stays for a while. Now, we have our latest family member Lucky, the dog – well, he’s still a puppy really. That will add a new spin on things. It should be more fun though with him around.
All the summer activity does serve to incite my imagination. The movement, family connections, interests and the colourful nature of bonding are so uplifting to my spirit. This time really helps to feed me in the desire to be creative. Even though I may be a bit too busy to get much painting done at the time, I am building up my reserves for the weeks after. All the creative juices then seem to come forth just in time for the fall and I’m ready to paint like there’s no tomorrow. It’s like a cycle and this is the way it seems to flow each year.
Let’s move into this wonderful new season with much gusto and enjoy it to its fullest. After all, it only comes once a year here in Delaware. And I say to you all, have a truly wonderful summer!!
